Does anyone know how the base idle is altered / achieved on the 1200? Note, the 1150 types have by-pass volume screws which the latter model does not.

According to Jefferies all but the earliest models have no adjustment.
The stepper motors supposedly auto adjust idle balence.

Thank you Wraith; Yes I agree in principle, but how I wonder does each of the idle control valves get its data? Or is it determined by an initial setting through the diagnostic tackle?

My memory's working and I seem to remember the guy saying that the air flow through an orifice on each throttle body is what's used to input to the stepper motors. Presumably the computer compares the two flows and then adjusts the motors when required.

I raised the same query a couple of days ago. My idle is not balanced, even after a service and I cannot figure out how it can be balanced
Sorting it by throttle cable adjustment is not, I am sure , correct.
I do not know what stepper motors are, or for that matter how they can be adjusted.
