For those unfamiliar with Basecamp - or for those who have tried it and had difficulties - there are a series of short videos on Youtube uploaded by someone who calls himself 'Garminguru". These show very clearly how to install Basecamp, plot routes and transfer the routes to a satnav. Recommended!

Basecamp's not that bad once you get used to it...

I must admit, I have struggled and I was very good with Mapsource. Why Garmin made Basecamp so complex is beyond me. A simple planning and up/downloading tool is all that many folk need.

Been using MyRoute app for a while now and like it - can plan routes using Google maps / Tom Tom maps / HERE(Garmin) maps and save them in many differing formats - itn / GPX etc....
