Not to clued up on this but how do i get Basecamp to read the european maps on my SD card..i have the Zumo 550 with euro maps on the SD card which will not show on Basecamp

On the Garmin website there is a software upgrade for the Zumo 550 itself which sorted the compatability for me so worth a try.
I am using a Mac OS 10.5.8 and Basecamp.
BTW what size of SD card are you using, I would like to know the otimum.

Hi its a 2gb card, now downloading all of europe maps to pc..but how do i get to view them on basecamp? think my 550 is up to date from garmin..cheers

Have you selected the new installed set under the MAPS menu at the top of the screen ?
Otherwise Basecamp can't see them.
I'm using a 4GB but not sure it is really enough once I'm loading routes.

ok downloaded the europe 2012.4 maps to pc and its now showing automatically on basecamp :beerjug:

Just for the record, Basecamp will also read the mapping off an SD card in a card reader. For the Zumo 550, which I believe has the slower USB 1, this is much faster. From my testing it's also quite a bit faster than my Nuvi 765, apparently USB2 same as the 660, doing it this way anyway.
