Hi All,
Have been enjoying the GS1150 but went to use it yesterday evening and the battery was flat as a fart and obviously I wasn't going anywhere!! Its all standard with no alarm or any extra electrics added. I don't know if it is has anything to do with the battery going flat but I have noticed over the last few weeks that I have had to keep resetting the digital clock? The bike has only been sat for 9 days on the drive whilst I have been away on hols so I cant think what has drained it. I do always ride with my lights on but I cant imagine that would cause a problem as I would think the battery still charges as you ride? I have today put it on the optimate 4 and left it plugged in but this is the first time I have had to use the optimate. I know some people are going to say leave it on charge all the time the bike is not being used but that is easier said than done when you don't have a garage. Any ideas or is it just time to get a new battery?
Cheers, Chapperz

Yeah chapperz you due New battery, I recommend motobatt its cheap and powerful

do be a bit careful with battery fitment,i bought a motobatt but it would not fit my configuration of gs1150

Thanks Beemer pimp. I have been in touch with the dealer I brought the bike from today and they said if I can bring the bike over they will test it and let me know if its shot or not! I do have some warranty left on it from when I brought the bike so I am hoping that if the battery is shot then they will replace it FOC with a new battery!! We live in hope :mmmm

Thanks for the advice all. Took the bike into the dealer last Thursday and they said the battery had a couple of dead cells and was the old `distilled water top up type` and was more than likely the original battery from new!! They fitted me a new sealed gel battery.... What a difference. You can actually see how clear the LCDs are now and it starts soooo much better. Happy Days :thumb

if it does not have a abs system up grade to a 30 amp hr battery just done it to my r1150rt does fit in ,modify the battery carrier though, I got the battery from tayna batteries good luck cost me 43 quid !

I fitted an Odyssey battery some years back - absolutely superb, first time start even when left out in snow overnight. Definitely the best battery I've ever had, not cheap, but worth every penny.
