2004 GS, - normally kept plugged in to the Optimate but must of forgotten to re-connect after turning her over about a month ago, - been on a SORN since November. Booked her in for an MOT today, go to start her and nothing, not even visible warnings or digits on the dash. Plugged her into the optimate, left for a couple of hours, now I get my warning lights and the loud click click, but not urning the started motor.

Any of you guys know if this means that the battery is dead or could it be brought back to life?

Appreciate any help.

Ian

If it is the original battery that it will almost certainly be dead beyond recovery. Best get a new one.

Won't you need to leave it connected for more than a couple of hours to get it back to full charge? - more like a couple of days........

optimates arnt as good as people recon, your battery could still be ****ed, but like he says charge it more 1st , but i recon its dead

thanks guys. Decided that I probably need new one anyway,- had a search on here for info, found the threads on the beefed up battery (can't recall its name) but decided on a Varta because it was on the shelf at the Halfords around the corner for £54.99. Job done fitted and she fired up first time. MOT tomorrow and back to the ways of the GS again. I have missed the fun!
