Battery failure

Try a Westco battery, same technology as the Odyssey battery but cheaper and you don't have to mess around as it's a direct replacement.

I changed mine two weeks ago, starts with renewed vigor.

Got mine from www.tayna.co.uk delivered next day.

I contacted them for a Westco fitment for a 1200GS, five minutes later I got this

Hi Parky, I also noticed that the GS12 wasn't listed, so I've also spoken to the nice guys at Tayna & they told me the reference number for the GS12 battery is 512 014. Incidentally, they advised me that they can supply an original spec battery (Varta) for £44.99 + £7.99 P&P. They also said it would be worth considering an SVR battery at £69.99 + £7.99 P&P - as this battery provides much more cranking power for the same size of battery.

They went on to say that the Odessey batteries are not a direct replacement & they would require the measurements of the standard battery to be able to supply one that would fit this bike.

Luckily for me, BMW have agreed to replace mine under warranty, despite the warranty having expired 3 months ago. Phew!
