Battery Help

Hi fellas my 990 battery is tipping me bollox and wont fire up the beast,iv posted on the ktm forum and some of the guys there tell me that a Honda Pan European battery will fit? anyone of you orange dudes know the part number,or know if theres a battery with more ACC to give a bit more boost? cheers guys.......................

I have the same issue on my 950 adv. I will be researching shortly. do you know what the std APH is for the 990/950???

I had to get a battery the otherday because even though it was showing 12.6volts on the multimeter it wouldnt crank the bike.
I popped in my local bike shop (yamaha dealer) and got one for a Yamaha 1000 fazer. direct replacement gel battery with 14AH rating( 10AH previuosly fitted). bike fires up great. I did however emery cloth the battery leads and covered in a silicon based grease after tightening lead bolts.

Interesting, whats the CCA rating on that, or is it ACC . Cranks per wotsit rating.

battery for adventure

Here is what I use over here in the US on my adventure. Truly a very cool battery!

You can break the casing open and it won't leak out; a great idea considering where they mount these in the Adventure. I paid about $100 here in the states for mine. Cranks the bike over with no problems!
