battery leads

I am replacing the battery on my 2002 ADV
On cleaning up the positive leads one of the connectors broke off the smaller leads ( these connections dont look as if they are factory fit)
fitting a new end to it makes it quite tight :
I had planned to make new main battery leads up but they disapear under the airbox, i guess into the loom.

My question is;
how to get the airbox out ? does the the rear subframe have to be lifted up as if doing a cluth removal ?

I can get around it but would be neater with new leads
