Hi
Has anyone tried the new bridgestone battle wing tyers yet? I dont know weather to go for these or tourances. :nenau

Buzz....

everyone who has them is raving about them....seems like a good idea to mould a 020 tread to a Trailwing carcass! Still I'll stick with my Tourances for now :thumb

:D

Heidenaus

Dont bother, buy yourself a pair of Heidenaus(look in the bargain forum for thread)........................best value and dare i say best grip in a compromise tyre :thumb :thumb

In last week's MCN, the Battlewings got a good write up. They said the average rider would never approach these tyres' limits

One set of tourances it is then.
That seemed a bit too easy. Are you sure that Italian Trev really has Battlewings on his V Strom and that's he's not getting confused with Trailwings? Even if that's not the case, who's to say that what doesn't suit a V Strom won't suit a GS.... :nenau

Some other opinions here......

The BattleWings are a new tyre from Bridgestone and as Schtum says, IT is probably mixing up his tyres. Talking to my supplier friend, he reckons the new Battlewing will be an excellant hoop to go for, not as long lasting as the Tourances, but better overall grip on the road.

They are supposed to be 'dual sport' tyres but that tread pattern doesn't look very off road friendly to me :nenau

Heidenaus

When will some of you muppets :D realize that some of the more discerning GS.G/S riders use Heidenaus !!! There is a thread in the bargain forum..............£135 for two rears and a front delivered..............The grip is phenominal in the dry and wet, they perform as well as tourances on road and as well as TKC's off road. Get a lot more wear in hard riding , in spite of relative softness !! So many GS hard riders use 'em why dont you save yourselves some money and get educated :thumb :dabone

No good for GS1200 -these tyres are only H rated, where as the 1200GS requires V rated tyres. :(

May be OK for 1150GS'ers though :D

no problem

heidenaus are fine for normal speeds......................they sound great too !! I dont think anyone qwho rides hard has had a problem either :D Of course if you ride at 100mph all the time..............................but at 'steady' speeds around the 80-90mph mark on A and B roads never going to be problem...............Anyway, TKC's are no different
