Been knocked off , oil leak from rocker cover

just an update, im back home now and the bike is on its way to the repairer, spoke to insurace peeps and they are sending engineer etc out to assess what repair costs etc are,
the lad who recovered bike asked if i was going to use second hand parts to fix it myself !!!!????

when i replied no it will be repaired by the insurance peeps with all new parts he said they may well right it off

case of waiting to see what they say now.....

update

had bmw on the phone today, they have sent the estimate off to the insurance company, comes in at just under £5k

not sure what will happen now but ot a feeling it may be written off

You said it just went over on its side, Whats it getting, a new engine. ? Whats the actual damage.

was struck on the left side and fell on the right the car driver kept reversing onto the front wheel, so damage pretty much all over

insurance assesor phoned me today to say the bike is a total loss ,

offered me top money, or less and keep the bike, ive opted to take the money as they wanted too much for the bike, im off to coopers in the morning to get my personel items off the bike, sat nav mount, baglux cover, tt bling etc,

dont know if i will get another one as this one seemed "cursed", starting problem which were sorted under warranty and then this accident happening

of course ill see what they have in the showroom, also thinking about an 1150 , in the meentime i have my 600 to use so in no great hurry unless summmit nice in my price bracket pops up

Hi lads. . I'm on holiday down weston supermare. Went to filling station yesterday . I pulled away from pumps and stopped to sort gloves whilst sat on bike with engine running .guy reversed straight
Into me and knocked bike over onto right side and sent Me flying . Bike went down
Hard but stayed running. Oil poured out of right side rocker cover and the cover guard sheared bottom bolt off. Pickens bike up and turned off and put on side stand. Oil kept leaking for while longer as well as fuel pouring out . On to centre stand stopped fuel leak . Checked oil sight glass which was full prior to going over and its now half way down . Ain't tried. To start it . Stuck till bLoody Wednesday as everywhere closed.
I'm on my 07. 1200gs
Police attended etc all in hands of INS company . Pissed off as trip ruined after 18 month planning .

Not sure if engine damaged internally or not . ??

ha ha ha, it took so long as there was 13 of us going mate, everyone had to organise time of work, time away from wives and kids etc, wasnt so much the route planning as the rest of it, needed to be sorted way in advance so as many as possible could fit it in

had a laugh but managed 2.5 miles when i was down there

bike stripped now so ive got a lot of bling for sale
