just scoffin a wack of wheat'n bread 1/2 inch of dromona. well someone has to keep the cardiac wards in work!

Was Abrahams on Clifton Street?
Those ex-forces pack were used as balls protectors during my grammar school days. Thread your forearm through and hang the pack low in front.
No duffles for us, a hoke through the army surplus in Smithfield and you could get US combat jackets and parkas - always check for bullet holes - Vietnam
The parka was your man for an after school pint in the Cellars (that should read studying in the Central Library).
Just remove the school tie first, shove the pack full of books under the bench and ignore the odd teacher that you might see when leaving. Tease any of the Drug Squad that you saw by throwing away some silver foil (empty).

Ah but sure that would have been before your time, Joe

Happy days, when 10 bob could last you a night, 2 quid the weekend.
2 bob for a round in Pat's Bar - we knew the barman.
3 quid to insure the NSU Prima that I ran into the ground.

Them begs always used to end up frayed. :D Thinking it was cool to be into blues music at the time I had "blues power" written across mine in the aforementioned black felt tip. A wee scrote in school kicked me up the arse and ran off shouting up the Glens.:blast :D

Still got mine, liked to keep it a virgin. It now contains my fly fishing kit :D

It was hard to resist writing Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Black Sabbath, David Bowie etc etc over it.

Black Gloss paint!!!!!!!!!!!!

We used to paint the main flap with black gloss paint then spend hours drawing on the Queen emblem (the band that is) or black sabbath logo or deep purple. If you were hard and from the bad part of town you'd paint something a little more political!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah those were the days when crisps were a treat and tudor and 2 and half nupps!!!!!!!!!!! Nowadays teh album (CD) covers are so boring you couldn't spend time copying it onto your courier bag etc. Yes albums were and still are works of art thanks to Mr Roger Dean. Now then what was this thread about????????????????????/ Oh yes bags, in Bangor we all had them, duffles, Dr Marten brogues and i'll stop now stick in my eye.

Mine was ex-RAF, blue one, with Rolling Stone's Big Tongue logo on it. Had shoulder straps so's you could wear it on the bike to school. Apparently one of the school rules said no motorbikes, for some unaccountable reason.

The Boss nabbed me on one occasion as I hid the Norton round the corner from school, sez he 'Yer not wearing a school cap', which was obvious since I had an Everoak Jet on me loaf. When I got home, I aerosol-sprayed the lid in the school cap colours, his face was a picture next day :D To be fair to the guy, he turned a blind eye to both me and the bike after that :thumb

Mine first one (yellow) ended up very frayed very quickly when I conducted a little extra-curricular experiment with concentrated sulphuric acid. Books got off lightly though as I chucked the lot under the tap.

My second one (yellow) got so covered in writing it was like those fellas with complete body tattoos - you couldn't make anything out so I had to paint stuff over the top. I even had some band logos on the inside.

My third one (blue - a gift. I'd have bought yellow or possibly red) lasted a long time as I didn't abuse it. It had no soul in blue. :(
