I have the mispleasure of being insured with BeMoto and after a heated exchange when I swapped to the new GSA I would never use them again as long as I'm on this planet!

Absolute w&nkers, so as said above shop around and give them a wide berth.

I generally found them ok until I sold my Crosstourer and bought my GS. Had my CT , XJR and Himalayan on a multi policy.
i called them to inform them I was changing my Honda to be informed that my current insurer wouldn’t cover my new bike automatically due to value and they’d need to refer it.
They never called back and getting hold of someone was a nightmare.( to be fair it was during pandemic issues)
Eventually I got through the day before I picked my new bike up and was told that i definitely could not get insurance with current insurer and would need to have a different policy on the GS with another insurer. Which obviously had no claim’s implications.

In the end I had to cancel entire policy and start again on a multibike policy. I had no chance to shop around and they knew it, felt I got royally shafted.
When I first dealt with them they seemed a cut above , a bit different. Sadly seem same as everyone else now.

I’m with Principal now.

In the competitive world of insurance they really do stand out as the least customer focused and will not turn down an opportunity to shaft you - their customer!

Truly awful company.

Hi All, Just had a quote for insurance from bemoto, £358 fully comp.

57 years old, no convictions or accidents and 13 years ncd.
last years was 50 quid high at 226 but the likes of bennetts offering at £148.

i know bemoto have a good reputation, but when is it taking the mick to hike prices like this.
dan
Insurance legalised theft. Bennetts last year £277.81 this year £353.14 I'm 68 been riding since Adam was a lad no accidents no convictions. I don't understand insurance companies thinking.

Like you said, legalised theft...
I'd go as far as a Mafia...
Government will never be interested as bigger price, bigger tax return..

are you unaware we live in a capitalist country where the primary objective of the broker and underwriter is to maximise profits for the owner or shareholders? If you have a private or company pension, they will be investing in these companies to your benefit.

would you prefer a command economy?

Well said Wessie. We have a choice of who for insurance just like any other commodity

Indeed we do. Just that some are bigger c@nts than others, but they are for sure all cut from the same cloth!

I prefer a just economy. I don't see why those of us who play by the rules get punished and those that don't, don't. I don't think they pay into military pensions.

a just economy would be lovely but a fanciful notion in UK plc

I'm more annoyed by this cartel than insurers https://www.theguardian.com/busines...uts-bp-shell-chevron-exxonmobil-totalenergies - they hold the whole planet in contempt
I understand that part of the problem is electric vehicles, high spare part prices, lack of suitable technicians vehicles getting written off for relatively minor damages for 'safety' likewise when battery packs need replacing. It affects the whole insurance industry

Got a renewal quote from Bemoto which was £140 more than last year, ended up with Motorcycle Direct Diamond Policy. 2016 GSA, 62 years old, over 40 years of no claims, Tyne & Wear NE10 postcode £229 including legal expenses and breakdown cover.

Yep - They are absolute bell ends and you're wise to move!

My renewal came through this morning and as I expected it had gone up considerably so I rang Bemoto to discuss the price with them.
The chap I spoke to said there was a £140 'leeway' built into the price so if I could find similar cover for less they would reduce the price to match it, up to a maximum reduction of £140. I asked him if they could just reduce by the £140 and was advised that not this is not possible without proof I can get ot cheaper elsewhere.
TBH I'd rather he hadn't mentioned it, if they can reduce it by £140 just do it, if they're only willing to in the circumstances described above I know I'm going to feel fleeced.
So begins the annual dance to see where I can get the best cover at the best price.

that's in the FRO and when you have FOed, FRO again category. Bin them. I would not give them the chance to match a cheaper quote elsewhere. Another broker is bound to be willing to sell you the exact same policy for less to get your business.

I was with them 3 years but the premium they sent this month on renewal was 40% up so no claims nothing different so i shaped with my feet fecking big steps and found same deal 50% less.

Indeed. A cursory glance has brought back a quote £100 cheaper, though that is insuring each bike separately despite having to start 2 of the bikes from scratch as I've lost my NCB on them as a result of having had a multibike policy for the last 2 or 3 years.

My premium has gone up this year by a whole £54, from £404 to £460 with BeMoto Comprehensive (Titanium cover), 41 year old male, 14 years NCD, WD Postcode (inside M25). The insurance renewal is not due until mid May.
Checking the paperwork that BeMoto have sent me through, the valuation of the bike is probably circa £1000-£1300 to high now. Adjusting that might bring the policy cost down a little. Still £54 is an increase no matter how small. I feel that those days somehow slipped now, when for each year of me being good, I was rewarded with a lesser pricey premium.
A quick meerkat comparison check, thrown out a cheapest policy (with all add-ons) at £520. I recon if I do have a chat with the BeMoto call centre chimp, the policy might come down to under £400 shillings.
