Just got my insurance renewal from Bennetts for my gsa 1250 and has risen by £200 over what I paid last year, taking the piss...

I’m with Bennett’s - mine has just gone down by £90 a year..

Happy days

Keep my eyes open for my renewal with Bennetts in May, they've always been decent but will shift if its rocketed.
Just stopped 2 car policies with Direct Line, one jumped 37% and the other 43%. Now with Aviva at less than last years with DL ......shop around gents 👍

Mines dropped £250. Bennetts renewal is in April.. I was delighted. Although I have one bike less! 😂

Bemoto wanted to put my premium up by a large amount, I did a search on MCN Compare and ended up with Motorcycle Direct. As others have said you simply have to shop around.

My Bennetts renewal came in last year £298.00 this year £609.00 so shopped around and Hastings Premier was best cover for best price at £246.00 - no sweat just move around to a reasonable cover for a reasonable price.

Interesting. With Hastings Premier at the moment and they have said to me I’ll have to simply cancel the policy as they ‘can’t insure that bike’

Funnily enough - a friend just tried to insure a KTM 1290 SAS with them and they said they dont insure KTM's - I am sure this cant be true! I wonder if its down to the call handlers or maybe post code....?

Get your mate to try their website?

My 1290 SAS is insured with (via, as they are a broker, not an insurer) BeMoto.
Last years fully comprehensive policy £404.72. Covering me a 40yo (at the time) married male, living inside the M25.

Waiting for a renewal to land on my door mat before the weekend.

My renewal was yesterday and as posted above, the renewal quote was £250 less than the previous year but I have one less bike now.

The price was £461 which I thought was pretty reasonable and was about to pay it but then decided to give them a ring to see if it could be bettered.

I spoke with a lad called Chris who was very helpful. He said the value of the bike was a little high on the quote so suggested we reduce it. It’s a 2021 1250 so I changed the valuation to £15k, down from £18k.

Plus, my circumstances have changed as I don’t commute any more so again, that was adjusted. He also asked the bike mileage and age and said the annual mileage should reduce as I’ve never done more than 7000 in a year. Again - tweaked.

I was then very pleasantly surprised to get a revised quote of £311 which I went ahead with.

Worth checking when you renew. 👍🏻

That in itself is meaningless.

If last year’s premium was £500, then it would be a 10% increase. If, on the other hand, it was £10 and had now increased to £60 it would be a rise of 600%.
If I'd had said my insurance had gone up by 24% you'd have said exactly the same. There's always one on a web board and your it! As a mod you should know better.

Percentages are in the real world of £s meaningless. Yes I could have put both but couldn't be arsed. You don't pay in percentages you/we pay in £, $, € etc.

All you needed to do, was tell the world that last year your insurance was, say £200 and had now become £250. That (assuming nothing else has changed in your life) would have told the entire story.

But hey, you decided not to.
