hi ya'll
suggestions please for a decent seat for 2010 gs.
bagster 1 piece gives a front "wedgie" as does standard.
oooh eeer missus.
300 mile trip yesterday.....last 100 plenty painful.
pleeease help
thanks

I've tried a touratech (kahedo?) but wasn't much better than standard for me and swapped it for a Sargent seat which is much more comfortable. Still need to get off every couple of hours though.

Sargent seat has just been listed in For Sale section, if you're interested.

You name it, I've had it.... Standard, Tony Archer, Touratech, Corbin, air hawk, sheepskin....

Anyway, the point I'm coming to as one who suffers from a sore bum (coccyx mostly) My new to me 1200GSA came with a low Sargent seat...

Wow, finally found something that doesn't cause me pain :rob

I like the Kahedo standard. Not as good for comfort as Kahedo GSA height but I cant properly reach the floor on the GSA version. Both are 1000% better than either OEM seat.

Personally I did not like the Sargent seat. The bucket edge dug into my thigh. I had similar issue with a Corbin on the Yamaha Diversion 900.

Maybe they better suit those with longer legs. No good for me with 31"-32" inside leg.

Try before you buy if possible. I have a Corbin seat on my 1200 which is quite a bit wider than the standard seat, and as Bendy mentioned, reaching the floor becomes less easy.

weird how subjective it is....30" inside leg here and the sergent low on the GSA is great

Had Corbins on my 1150 and now have Sargents on the 12 ... of the 2 I find them equal in comfort although the Sargent is 3 x times lighter ... and ... you really need to be off the bike for a break after 200+ miles anyway (well, you do at my age :D)

Best seat

I like Corbin's best for comfort, but they are heavy and increase the seat height by around an inch. I now use a Sargent which is a good compromise. If you don't like the Sargent they are easy to sell.

Take your standard seat off. Remove the cover and take a bread knife to it.

It took two go's but the end result was better than any of the other combos I tried, including paying for it to be modified.

Also: A sheepskin (tight curly type) helps, as does adjusting the seat to low at the rear and high at the front.

Val.

I sent mine to Tony Archer, had the front lowered, front and back covered with a layer of memory foam as the rear is very hard on the pillion as well, then all recovered in black non slip. Much more comfortable front and rear and cost about £130 I seem to remember.

as does adjusting the seat to low at the rear and high at the front.

Not had my 12 very long, only done one longish run on it, and this is exactly what i felt it needed. Im thinking of removing the cover and reshaping the base with some hard dense foam from a kneeler pad to lift the front a bit.

Took mine to a chap near Burgess Hill, so not too far from you. He remodelled my seat and fitted memory foam and reshape. Cracking job and is now the most comfortable seat I've ever had.

The basic seat pan shape is good (at least those without the lump at the back) so recovering with memory foam over hard foam should be great.

I keep meaning to ask him if he could add some foam to my seat to make it higher. I have a sargent seat to sell that might fund it.
