ok, best prices i can find for 2610 and 2720 are £388 for 2610 inc vat and £600 for 2720 inc vat.

These seem pretty good, especially the 2610 price, but is the 2720 wroth paying more for (paging any users.....)

thanks in advance

IIRC PanEuropean who beta tests GPSR's for Garmin thought that the 2720 didn't offer very much more for a lot more money. Depends if you have to have a 3D looking view of things when your navigating?

I've a 2610 clone and wouldn't bother changing it at the moment. Unless someone wants to give me one :mmmm

Very good price for the 2610. Unless someone knows somewhere cheaper of course. Mind telling me where from ? Thanks.

I'm from the old school that thinks when something looks too good to be true it normally is.....this seems very cheap .

I see they say it comes with all UK and Europe maps pre installed but they don't say it is supplied with Mapsource City Navigator so it would be worth checking carefully what maps are installed and do you get Mapsource with it . Without it you may only have base maps and that's no use to you at all really. If not you will have to buy it seperately .

Well - yes and no.

It doesn't offer a whole lot more so far as basic navigation goes, because the 26xx product already did a very good job.

What the 27xx does offer (that the 26xx did not) is the ability to receive dynamic traffic information, and somewhat more memory for track logs, speed camera databases, stuff like that. So, if traffic information would be meaningful to you, then the 27xx becomes more attractive.

To tell you the truth, I have kind of forgot what all the differences are between the 25xx, 26xx, and 27xx series are (I'm using something else now), it would probably be best for you to go to the Garmin website and use the 'compare GPSR' feature there to get the definitive word on differences.

Note also that if you buy a new 27xx vs. a used 26xx, you will likely get more up to date maps with it.
