I'm on the verge of returning to all-weather biking, and looking for good two-piece with waterproofing on the outside. Inner-liners are all well and good for short trips, but when the Floods come they get heavy.

Any reccomendations?

Harlvassons? Jofama?

Skin.

It is water-proof. You wont fill-up like a sponge. :D

Look at the newer Gore-tex kit with the gore-tex laminated to the outside layer. I have been useing BMW gear- leather trousers and Streetguard jacket with no problems. JJH

BMW Streetguard 2 has been entirely waterproof for the last 20k miles (ish). Has also survived a minor trip down the road. :thumb

Value for Money - HG Master V suit. Not cheap but as good as anything and totally dry. I have also got a Rukka jacket with the laminated goretex material which is the same as the HG stuff and the new fancy rubber zip thing - the jacket cost the same as a full HG suit but no better from my experience

Not having a goretex liner is a revelation as the jacket does not soak any water up so takes no time to dry

I wear Tourance trousers and a Rallye 1 jacket with an ex Police Goretex jacket over the top which will take me through the winter commute and rainy season. The over jacket has a deep elasticated bottom and makes a significant difference to warmth as well as keeping me dry. Added to this are Alpinstar tech touring boots, BMW Pro WInter 2 Gloves and an old TT Buff.

Job done.

Possibly not the most fashionable of attire and it lacks the external branding so many seem to look for, however it is without a doubt the best combination of gear I have ever ridden in over the last 35 years

No more soggy wet gloves

I got a set of these from a guy whilst on a rideout to abbergervenny. They a a very quick way of entending to handgaurds on a GS1200R to make those cold wet days even warmer

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_...0gs+handlebar+mitts&_sacat=See-All-Categories

I have ridden with these a couple of time now with just my summer enduro gloves and hands stay dry and warm. If honest too warm at times with heated grips on. and take seconds to fit and remove

Any info wanted on what experience I have had these let me know. I know a lot of people are put off by the image of a mitt but these are very well designed and do not restrict riding in any way Hope this make you winter more comfortable.

Unless you have an aversion to any form of camo gear, goretex army surplus over trousers and jacket worn over the top. Quite cheap, lightweight and from my experience, very waterproof. Another plus I noticed was that I didn't seem to get the usual damp feeling even when you're not.
