Amazing what you can do with an old set of jump lead.
Handy for charging, jumping n testing.

You do know there's a cheap(£15ish) kit from Wunderlich to do exactly that but much neater and more conveniently don't you ?

It puts the live terminal on the outside of the starter casing as it is on later 1150Advs.....the neg terminal you can use any bit of engine/paint free earthed frame etc.

:)

Must admit mine's been very handy....I even jump started my Landy from the bike with it :D

That'll be £15 more than two sets of these :D

Fair point....I forgot you were Scottish :D

You could also achieve the same sort of thing by having a couple of big (28mm sort of big) bolts with some spacers and stuff down on the starter casing area......if you can jump straight to the starter, I think it's better than going through the battery :nenau

You could also leave them open as well for immediate access.....with yours, neat as they are, if you have to use the lead, you're potentially going to end up with a live cable with de-stickied tape sort of clinging to it......and getting the tape off's gonna be messy and sticky:(

Not trying to knock what you've done mind.....they're very useful as you say :thumb2 ;) :comfort

its a good idea ok

i've always thought about getting one of these and bolting it up somewhere - with its corresponding mate on the end of a set of jump leads.

When I worked in a garage we used to have an astramax van with one of those connectors wired up in the back near the doors. When going out to a broken down car it was a doddle to just back up to the car and if it needed jumping off, plug in the modified jump leads and away you go:thumb2

I'm sure thats what the AA and other breakdown services have.
