I have just had the 6K service (done by CW Dorchester – good blokes
) on my 1200GS and then went to the BMF in Peterborough. Before the servicing I was achieving approx 130 miles before I got the ‘you have 40ish miles to empty’. Now after the servicing, I’m achieving 160 miles before the ‘miles to go indication’ comes up. Has anyone else found the same thing? I didn’t have a shufty into the tank to see if I was almost out.
The bike seems much more sorted now, it was a bit rough before the 6K.
Also I seem to be doing really well on the tyres, 6K and loads left on both. How many miles do these tyres normally cover?
I was lent an F800S
(what is that bike trying to be, Sports - no, tourer - no, commuter - no) while the GS was being serviced. Fek I must have got old riding the GS, ‘cos the F800 was a bit lacking in all areas, the front dived, mirrors were useless, its hard to believe that Bike rate the F800ST a VFR beater, the ST must be significantly better than the ‘S’. I’m sure they gave me the F800 just to remind how good my GS was.
