Tried to change oils today (engine, gearbox and FD). Engine and gearbox no problem - FD drain plug has a munged hex socket :-( OK, I'm going to have to get a new plug before I do anything, but what is the best way to deal with getting the old plug out? I'm thinking it might be best to remove the whole unit so I can hold it firmly in a vice? But then what? If the level/filler plug is anything to go by, the dealer must have let their trained gorilla loose on it last time it was replaced...
