BHP uk tuning

Took mine to Hilltop in autumn, because I intended to “liberate” the exhaust a bit over winter (Arrow collectors) and didn’t want to run too lean.
Since then have only run it with the original exhaust due winter weather and something to do with a snowboard.
Even so, I noticed a big improvement at the bottom end and in the midrange, which is exactly what I wanted. The bike is quick enough at the top end (IMHO) if you’re prepared to wring its neck, but now has a meaty kick up the backside from any rpm, just like a flat twin should…

Just like buying after martket luggage, I don't understand this. Why mess around with the BMW factory Map? The map design for that bike ? But also, If I wanted more power, Id buy a more powerful bike, However, I've bought an Adventure bike, Which already has enough power.
Obviously this is just my view.

I have the unit to remove the map and replace with standard before a service. :)
Another thing , if the bike has a software update and this includes fueling etc it can lead to the BHP map not reloading to the bike. I found that out with my Ducati and had to pay for a new map upload , which to add I did not take as sold the bike for a Gs 1250 at the time .

True words but a standard bike does have the guts strangled out of due to the emission tests and limits . A bike with better / old fashioned fueling to annoy Greta, will run better.

Would this "Run better" be noticable ? Id like to ride a Hilltopped bike back to back to see if it really does make any noticeable difference.

This is completely false. A standard 1300 does not have the "guts strangled out" by any stretch. "Old fashioned fueling" is a meaningless trope. This is the typical "lets pollute the air because I hate people who want cleaner air . It's a clown act.

So with the introduction of Euro 5 and 5+ fueling restrictions the manufacturer has to make adjustments to pass emissions, such as making the bike run leaner. Not saying the 1300 is bad or needs any, but looking back at bikes like the Kawasaki Z900RS, the on off fueling was bad at low throttle response. A lot of owners had a reflash of the ecu, which improved things and made it a nicer bike to ride. So, surely if you can tweek the map on a dyno, it will improve fueling and throttle response, may not pass emissions, but that isn't an issue in the UK as bikes are not emission tested.

Bet you own an electric car as well , all that Green Bollox , just slavery in disguise , meanwhile in the real world , we just adjust our fueling a little bit to make our bikes better. :D:D:D:D:D My 1300 was great , but feel it could have been better as its just restricted to keep Euro compliant. Call me Mad , Max but I dont care.

So I assume that if you own a 1300 GS or GSA and you will demand BMW don't update the fuel & ignition maps to the latest fuel & ignition maps that they have brought out to improve fueling and throttle response next time its in for service. Only a Clown thinks he knows best all the time. :nenau

Definitely a huge improvement on the low & midrange fueling on my 1250GSA and its also better on fuel now too.

Because aftermarket luggage built by someone who specialises in just luggage may be better for some people .
And as already mentioned, your new bike will be strangled slightly due to manufacturer having to meet ever tightening emission regs . A remap removes that restriction.
Both quite simple concepts really .

BMW outsource the luggage, To companies that make luggage, the last lot was touratech. Quite simple to understand really.

You don’t have to buy everything with a BMW badge on it .
I, like many others have had numerous panniers over the years.
Bumot were by far the best made . SW Motech were the most ingenious with the Trax panniers and quick release frames.
I had panniers made by Touratech for BMW on a GSA and they were average at best . Had to get two locks replaced and one leaked slightly.
But I admire your blinkered devotion to the mothership .

And also, My AT hasn't got a BMW badge on it. My Three Ford Transit customs haven't got a BMW Badge on them, My Lexus LS Hybrid hasn't got a BMW Badge on it.
But guess what, I post on this BMW GS forum, because my GS has a BMW badge on it.

It’s fake, but pay for it if you wish because some people feel happy afterwards. Some people also believe that copper bracelets and aromatherapy are very beneficial to their wellbeing.
Utter bollox . If it’s fake why would race teams and people like Michael Dunlop go there ?

Does Michael Dunlop go there for his bikes to be tuned, if they go to Hilltop at all?

Or (if they do) just to put on the rollers for a consistent readout for work his team do externally?

Well his bike was on the ramp in 2017 and I had to wait for Geoff to finish it before he did mine .Was watching him tweak the fuelling as he worked. Could have all been a giant ruse of course 😜
Geoff then did my 1290R.
Did a base run ,then remapped it with a gain of nearly 7bhp.
He’s also done a few of my other bikes. Always made a difference . Yet people still claim he’s a fake. It does make me laugh.
