Big GS Owners (Some questions)

I have a 1100GS, and the use of my wifes SV650S, so I can offer you this.

On occasions i have used the SV, especially when I couldn't ride my GS for a week, the SV was fun, so light and very nippy, but after a week, I couldn't wait to get back on the GS (my wrists ached to much), but i also discovered that the GS was quicker, it reached 100mph quicker than the SV. Though on the Twisties it may not leave them standing but it is so much fun watching the Sport riders frustration when they can't shake off a towering "trail bike" thing close up behind them.

I commute everyday and find I can take a relaxed ride to and from work,
I tour around the country and find it much more comftable than the SV could ever be, plus i can get more luggage on it without it (appearing to) effecting performance or handeling.

I feel much safer on the GS with it's engine and gaurds stiking out further than my legs do

It's pretty crash proof, (though i did manage to smash the screen and dent the tank but that was my fault getting to cocky on the ridgeway :-) I have dropped it when i got the balanace wrong, but it laid down on the engine gaurds, and i just picked it up and rode off with no damage what so ever.

To summuries, it's a great bike for commuting, touring, potting along without having to rev the gonads off it, but when you have the urge, just wtist the throttle and feel the torque propel you off... great fun.
