Before asking I have looked and looked, anyway I need a nice big screen for mr 2004 GSA and have had no joy. Can somebody kindly point me to a good reliable supplier for such a thing.

JMG.......sorry for being a wee bit off topic, but may I inquire as to why you think you need a big screen?

Fanum, I've had both screens on the adventure (two bikes in the garage) and the standard screen allows the wind to go straight into my eyes. The big screen gives great protection and allows for visor up riding for a 6'1" rider.

Going big is not usually the solution.

The subject of screens has been pretty much done to death on this site, so if you haven't already done so, then a site search will throw up lots of discussion on types of screens and solutions to clear up the airflow.

Getting the screen set to the sweet spot can take a lot trial and error, if it involves screen swaps, or additions like spoilers and torbinators, then expense as well.

The largest screen I know of is the Ztechnik Vstream touring, which is so large it has a metal support bracket to support the screen. There is a video on YouTube of it in action. My personal experience of this screen, is that does not cure the buffeting around the head.:thumb2

:beerjug:

Bigger screens=more dead air cavities=more low pressure vortices=more buffeting.

Air flow is far more important than protection.

As you say Ian, it's been done here several times.

Still, if he wants a bigger screen, he wants a bigger screen :nenau

I have an aeroflow screen (tall) on my GS. I am 6'6" and it works well for me.

Hey there

How do you find the aeroflow works - warmth wise?? I have a calsci x/large and have had to make up aluminium brackets under the screen on each side and make up a laminar lip on top of the screen (works ok) and i hate getting cold because of the wind coming around the sides of the calsci screen where it narrows towards the top of it and also wind coming up my legs from near the bottom of the tank.
The screen's expensive but if it keeps me warm on a cold day, its money well spent.

Get an RT? will do if l can't find a solution but the GS is comfy on a long trip (lowered pegs/raised bars etc etc '01 R1150GS), have contacted Aeroflow and they have given me larger photos/quote on the tallest screen and have tried to see if any owners in OZ have one on their bike to no avail..... don't care how ugly it is as long as it generates a bit of warmth like an RT does.
I am 6'6".

Hopefully you guys can upload the pic of my bike on sale on a site from Australia.

I do realise this post is a few months old-appreciate your reply.

Iv got an Isotta screen on my 1150 never heard of them but it is a great screen and il leave it on,good protection...

The aeroflow screen really does an excellent job of keeping the wind (and thus cold) off and I never felt buffeting with it. It looks bloody massive though - only downside I found.

I am 6 foot and it kept me way warmer than the standard screen. Could ride with visor open on the motorway (but sEmed foolish so I didnt).

Standard adv screen, tobinators and TT screen extender for me, works perfectly.

A car - fair point.........

Ta Jamieboy for the reply, so it actually generates a bit of warmth in the way an RT does?? Good to hear - the screen ain't pretty but neither is the bike-don't care about looks at all -function over form every time!! As long as it works..

Just getting a bit tired of adding this, taking that, changing this etc etc. Money for a new screen blah blah. I know it's been discussed to death on the forum. Went for a Calsci screen with tank bars and it holds up well when you have a spill. Hence my concern with the Aeroflow. The Aeroflow screen apparently isn't too bad in a fall l've read recently.

If the bike doesn't sell, an Aeroflow will be order -just hope l can stay warm on the thing like my old K and R RT's.

Ta, Nick
