I was wandering round the bike last night after setting the lonerider spots,

and I heard a chirping from the back of the bike

Is a regular cycle , at first I though brake ABS modulator, but its not that

Turns out its the exhaust flappy servo thing it cycles and then chirps constantly.

Wiggling the Bowden cables the Nosie stops

Cycle the ignition, and it starts again

I seem to recall somthing about resetting the tension , but cant see anything in the manual ( although i may have missed it, )

or is it the flappy thing failing ( luckily the TC its a replaceable item)

My Haynes manual covers removal and replacement of the flappy valve with a bit about cleaning and lubricating things. It says there should be a small amount of slack in the cables. Do you think it may be jammed?

It clicks on all the bikes I’ve seen with a seized exhaust valve.
My flap was rotating in December when i had the exhaust off to change the starter.

The only benefit for me is the flap is a replaceable unit
