Bike Lift - anyone use one for 1150GS ?

i have one of thies, work but getting them balanced is not easiest for larger bikes.

i have stripped an 1150gs, africa twin and many other bikes on one of these.

just make sure strap them down front and rear it removing front and rear ends together as can rock a bit as deisgned for ATV and mx bikes

i put flat sheed timber across the lift as the sump guards on most bikes are not 100% flat or curve so sheet timber help balance it

chat to phil gunn on here he will sort you out with lifts as well and very helpfull regarding shat should and shouldnt buy

Hi John,

Thanks for that, it sounds encouraging.

When you say strap the front and rear down, do you strap them to the lift frame itself or to some blocks on the ground?

Got this one from Phil Gunne. Love it. Had one of those scissors jobbies for a 400 a good few years ago and spent the whole time terrified it would topple on top of me. It gives me shivers thinking about a 350Kg 1200 balancing on it! But then I am a wuss :augie

Photos of bike on the new lift!

Collected the lift from Kevin in Dublin through whom Phil had sent it to me.

The thing is well made to say the least, no fear of any issues with the strength or design.

Put it under the bike and lifted away - very easy to use and bike quite stable on the lift.

Good locks to stop accidental lowering.

Lowering done carefully and there is enough clearance to put the bike on the mainstand.

Seems to be a good piece of kit, will try it under the r100gs later.

Thanks to Phil and to Kevin!

Bin
