The GS is quite a desirable bike so what is the best form of security. There are obviously two main requirements - at home and on a trip. What do you recommend I should use when I get my GS:
Big chain
Disc lock
Bike alarm
Tracking device
System that sends a message to your mobile - don't know what they are called
All of the above or is there a better solution that I don't know of.

I've still got some ground anchors I used to make, if you pay the postage, you're welcome to one (postage £5ish I should think)
01905 612705 or PM me

I have a bulgarian friend who told me (going back a few years now) that they didnt have much by way insurance. However some nice gentlemen offered to sell you a sticker which you applied to your vehicle stating the name of their organization. If someone stole you car they gave you no money but they "managed" the culprits very efficiently. Result low car theft

Unfortunately said friend moved to madrid and they pinched his car! But what a gifted idea! OK and a fiver for a ground anchor is also pretty damn good value

Opinion varies here. The GS isn't as nickable as a sports bike, but they are targeted on the continent ... so its just a question of using your comon sense. My bike is stored out doors with a big chain and concreted in ground anchor, I've also a BMW alarm fitted. No probs thus far.

The GS is too big and unwieldy for 16 year old scrotes looking for a joy-ride, they are more attraced by DT125s ....

The "Nice Gentlemen" in Bulgaria turn up in these things, bulging jackets and wraparound shades, my Mrs says I was a total F***ing idiot taking a pic of one of their cars... There's enough firepower in the back to keep a small African country at war for a long time:eek:

Would I pinch one of thier cars or bikes? Ummmm NO I don't think so:cool:
