Had a bit of a senior moment today whilst out for a ride 2up, slowing down for a right hand turn the engine stalled & rear wheel locked up, ended up with the rear of the bike trying to overtake the front, fortunately managed to get it under control without dropping it but was prob doing about 40 when this happened. In all the years I've been riding have never had a modern bike do this !

Just wondered if this is a common issue with the GSA??? or have i bought a lemon ???

I have an aftermarket can on mine and with the baffle out I have had it stall - mainly when pulling up though. With the baffle in place no problem.

The bikes all standard, only had it 2 days, so will have to speak to the dealer tomorrow as surely this sort of thing shouldn't be happening ?

is your bike a tc.if so some people have reported this prob,it seems to affect some bikes not others.btw i can almost make mine do it on slowing down i blip the throttle just as the revs bottom out.some say that a cam sensor proble causes it and i think there was a recall on some bikes.

Mine stalled in the middle of a right turn. I wasn't blasting away but already had both feet up. Then bang it stalled just as if I had hit the kill switch.

The bike went down. & threw me off. Thankfully no harm done & I'm ok. Though trying to pick up a GSA from the "wrong" side while a bus waits is embarrassing to say the least.

After no clue as to why it happened I'm suspecting the battery. It's never been a lively starter but ever since its felt likely to stall after a cold start. In traffic it can also feel weak pulling away but fine when I put the grips and spotlights off.

Next stop for me is a new battery because it's already suspect for starting.

sounds the same thing, would have thought if it had just stalled it would fire back up again like bump starting, so maybe an electrical problem, anyways its going back to the dealer as its still under manufacturers warranty. good to hear you were ok though.

I had a similar thing happen with my old 2005 1200, a new engine map sorted it but at the same time the map was changed they also put thinner oil in it either might have fixed the problem, it only ever happened when the engine was cold, it stalled at the same turn each time it happened, about 200yrds from setting off in the morning:nenau

I usually have to stop a few yards from my house to enter a main road and it will feel weak if a I pull away gently at the junction. If I go out through the estate its fine by the time I get to the main road on the other side. I'm thinking the battery is weak but gets chance to recover if I ride for a few minutes. That said when it konked out on me, I had been riding for a couple of hours followed by 15 minutes in heavy slow traffic with lights and grips on. One picked up it started fine.

I have an Akra stacked twin can exhaust system with baffles, but no mods to the inlet air resistor circuit as I plan to have it remapped. So it probably is running a bit weak.
