Bike to Bike Intercom

I am wanting to do a lot more group riding so I need to invest in an intercom system for both pillion and bike to bike.
For bike to bike, am I right that using radios would be a better option than Bluetooth? As Radios can be used for larger groups and as just about all radios can tune to the same frequency its more versatile that Bluetooth which have to be compatible with each other?
Although Bluetooth can be used more like a phone call in that more than one person can talk at once?

Also, as far as noise canceling goes, is this done by the specific mic you choose or by the intercom itself? If it is the autocom, could one bike have intercom and the other bike just have a radio? Basically, can one autocom do noise canceling for both bikes? Or would the wind noise still come through because the other bike doesnt have an intercom?

So far I'm thinking of either a Autocom Super Pro Avi, or Autocom Active Plus/Duo.... any opinions on either of these?

Autocom and Kenwood TK 3201 PMR radios are the way to go, AFAIK anyway. I have the Super Pro AVI Autocom and i can also record audio directly to my video camera whilst on the move. Graet bit of kit.

Ah wow, didn't even consider that. So simply plug one of the aux outs to the input of your camera? Out of interest what camera do you use? Something else Im looking at... I fancy a tiny cam which attaches to the helmet (purely the lense) and then the rest of the hardware can be kept in my jacket. Ive used the drift bullet cam but its simply too big to have on your helmet and causes unreal buffeting when going above 40. Makes life savers a right pain

I use a Sony DCR-TRV22E Camcorder along with a Sony 520TVL Bullet cam fixed to the bike. Everything is linked with custom made leads from Autocom. You need a Camcorder that has AVI IN and they are becoming increasingly hard to find. So to sum up i can record audio to the Camcorder and do bike to bike at the same time. Any replies i get over the bike to bike are also recorded to the Mini DV tapes that are used in the camcorder. All this is kept in a Tankbag. Hope that helps. Del

Ah I see.
So the camcorder is used purely as a recording device taking video from the bullet cam and audio from the autocom?

This sounds like an awesome setup. Thank you very much for giving me this idea!
