BILL AND WIRING . WARNING!

Not a Biblical Parable

I remember as a young lad, on my first day in a new office, I thought, I'd be the big lad and walk into the office, with a bit of bravado, and confront the staff with a bit of bolshy behaviour. Then they'll think I'm a great lad, and not mess with me. So I walked into the office, and spotted a bloke I had previously worked with. I seized my opportunity, and when he said hello, I abused him in a kinda mild, but very cheeky and over familiar way. The room fell totally silent, and of course as a young lad, I went bright red.....

The moral is obvious, and the warning I shall spell out...

It took me about 8-9 months to convince the rest of the chaps in the office, that I was not a total and utter, utter Wnaker

Please read and inwardly digest.... and accept in a friendly sort of way :thumb

Verney, first off, I've moved your post from the Newbie section to the more appropriate Dealeres section (Our Tarquin would no doubt have done it but he's poncing around Beaulieu in his foppish gown and wig so i'm minding his shop)

Secondly...let me get this straight......it's a bit confusing.....

You paid £431.41 for an MOT??

I presume that was work done to get the bike through the MOT??

Without knowing what work they had to do, it's obviously impossible to see whether that's a reasonable price or not....what work did they do???

So the bill isn't connected with the Autocom problem......unless you're saying they charged you that amount to wire it up correctly??? :nenau

It seems to me that apart from the size of the bill (which we can't judge, see above) the problem is that when it went in, the autocom was working, and when it came out, it wasn't and a 'mate' who may or may not know said that they'd wired it to the brake switch???

Have I got that right so far???

Are you sure the autocom isn't just wired tfrom the rear light feed rather than the brake switch??

If it was on the switch, it would be wrong, and it would only work when you applied the brakes....

You need to clarify the issue with the dealer, and right away I'd say.

I suspect you may well be being very harsh on them.......it's a serious allegation and TBH you haven't justifed it, not in my eyes at least.

In fairness to them, I'm going to edit your post and thread title until it's clarified.....if it turns out that you're right, I'll re-instate it.

(Sorry, and I'm not doubting your integrity but on a forum like this it would be easy for any competitor to register and make allegations against a dealer that they can't defend.....)

If you could clarify things and let us know what happens it'd be appreciated.

Bill

Hmm sorry, re-read your post and the ABS has a fault.....so you may well be correct and they may have wired the supply to the wrong wire (My autocom takes its supply from the rear cluster...It may well be that they thought they were doing that but actually wired it incorrectly)

I'd say it was even more important that you get it to the dealer and have them check it out...then let us know ;)

totaly agree, needs more explaining, if they are twats, fair dinkum, but lets be sure, before flaming them :nenau

verney has been banned by me for a week
( this is the first time i have ever done this)

verney has not given enough explanation and proof of his dealerships bad experience to slander this dealership

Provide proof of your actual problem and we will be happy to publish it...

But at the moment you look like you have a score to settle and have went way over the top on something that could be a genuine fault and instead blamed the dealership.

also after requests he still is posting

Sorry Verney, but you must see that coming onto a board as an unknown then making serious allegations of what amounts to criminal activity by a dealer has to be something we're careful about.

Criminal activity? BMW bike dealerships get away with it every single day.

Verney, you can only raise decent comments about your bike and dealers. Any other possible doubt or problem on your bike/dealership/wisdom of purchasing one is simply not allowed.

 That's why there's absolutely no criticisms of any BWM bikes on the site isn't it...and why there are absolutely no problems reported and discussed about any dealer

You're such a knob Tentoone.....I really don't know why you bother sticking around.

If you lack the basic intelligence to understand why we removed the name of the dealer and the expanations given, there's not much point in trying to explain it again.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out you sad little troll.

Speaking as the principal Moderator for this Forum, that statement of yours is bollocks.

Look through any amount of Threads and you`ll see as much mention of problems as praise.

However, direct personal abuse, unfounded accusations and libellous/slanderous postings WILL be edited or deleted.

Care to back that up with some evidence? And while you're at it, the details of the trade journal you saw those sales figures in a while back wouldn't go amiss :D

I have to agree that dealers who deserve to brought into question regularly are on the forums (search for Touratech for some good examples) and dealers who deserve praise are also praised here (search for TravelDri-Plus or Nippy Norman for some good examples)

There have been some heated and sometimes informative debates on here about most of the 'taboo' topics. Religion, sexuality, etc.

If a moderator has decided that what you have posted may put site as a whole at risk I think it's fair enough. The universe doesn't revolve around you. It's not like your thread has been deleted, it's been moderated. That's what moderators do.

We're happy to help, but if you come here and sound off about BMW, then sound off at us, what do you expect :nenau

what i have complained about is valid, you have denied me my basic right to vent my problem.

I can't really believe you think that you have a basic right to post whatever you like on a forum, paid for and run by others. Freedom of speach you are entired to (within slander laws), but to expect others to host it for you as a right :spitfire

You are either a taking the p*ss or a complete idiot.

Is the week over yet - cant wait for Verney to come back with a reply, this might be interesting/amusing :bounce1

Mmmmmmm.... 487 hits on your own web site. That many people didn't understand what you had said?

As for the flashing ABS lights - how unusual is that? Not!

Perfectly good solution somewhere on this FORUM. Print it out and carri it with a piece of wire in your tool kit.
