Afternoon peeps...
2013 1200 Adventure.
Screen off to clean.
Little nuts on the adjustable height part of the screen, nut that slides up and down to make adjustment possible.
Little nut with half each side cut out to make it a slider.
That one.
Dropped and swallowed by Mother Earth - I was in my garage, and have brushed the floor with vigour. It seems to be gone. I know it will be there when I get a new one. I do not know if it was fat fingers or just being tired, but it has gone.
Does anyone know what they are called? Or a part number.

About to deep dive Motorworks.

If anyone knows, can you let me know too please?

Thanks

Do you mean the dome nuts ?

Mine fell inside the beak support brackets when they fell off, seek and ye shall find !

Sadly Pukmeidter, I don't mean the dome nuts.
IN the pic from Motorworks, the two handles for tightening the screen into position are on the right/hand side r/h/s of pic. I need the bolt/bush (which is threaded) immediately to the left of the two handles.

It may well be that I have to fork out the £116 for the set, but I'd rather not.

Hopefully, it looks like this!

Hi Charles, hope life is being kind to you, what about this kit from motorworks, is that not the "top hat" nut you are after?

Is the part not identifiable in online parts fiche such as RealOEM/MaxBMW?

It’s probably only a couple of quid each from BMW.

I think it’s item 5 of the windscreen support assembly

Part number: 46 63 7 676 996
Description: Bushing, Inside, M6

Brian, hello. Yes managing to stay the right side up. Hope you are well too, and life isn’t to outrageous to you.
Yes, thanks, that’s the part. But I have not yet found it on the Motorworks website. Thank you for making it a bit easier for me.

Pukmeister, thank you for this. Between yourself and Brian O, I am now aware of what I nee. I just kinda balked a bit at £116 price for the full kit on Motorworks. Cheers.

Sod paying £116, if you can send me a drawing I can knock one up on the lathe at work from stainless.

Just search - FAA27079A-1

Got any new panniers recently ;)
You are hilarious!
Son has got my 1150 Adventure and a lovely set of Zega’s attached, cos apparently Touratech cannot come up with a way of putting the old Zega’s onto the 1200 Adv pannier frames. Hey ho!
Stay rubber side up!

Those f*ckers!! I lost one years ago, searched and bloody searched but never found it. UNTIL, the night when my Roadking alarm decided to go off for no apparent reason one night. I dashed over to the garage barefoot and f*ck me , it found me big time…..I had to dig it out with a pair of needle nose pliers. Bastard thing.

I know what it looks like but I need all its physical dimensions to make one, preferably in metric as it’s threaded M6 internal. Two minutes with a digital caliper and I could knock one up in a tea break.
Okay - but not tonight - it’s been a long day…. Tomorrow then! Thank you!

I need the diameters big and small plus the size across flats, plus the thickness of the washer ‘shoulder’ and the overall length. From that I can turn a couple down (in A4 grade stainless from a large bolt) then bench file the two flats. The filing down accurately parallel is the hard part, I’m a bit rusty at my bench fitting skills. I know it’s internally threaded M6 from its description.

That and a postal address to send it to.

You lot are lightweights,

jeez have you not heard of the double drop method, you take a similar size component and drop it like the first,

When you see it's drop path, you will find the missing first part , and for info, it will be in the front frame area where the indicator wire comes through right at the apex of the two frame welds

I have a garage floor which I honestly believe is a portal to another dimension , anything that falls off the bench or from the bike when disassembling or putting it back together (unless it is kept in direct sight as it falls) disappears the instant it hits the floor . It will eventually re-enter this dimension but only after a replacement part has been sourced and fitted , then it will be there , sitting in the middle of the floor in plain sight
