So you know about that problem;I know what you mean but I can’t replicate it whilst standing
I think it only does it under load
I’d put new gaskets on the headers but the bolts scare me![]()

There are many people on here who are vastly experienced with oilheads
I live in the midlands
I would love to encounter one of these sages
Of the oil head world to give my bike a once over
Remuneration isn’t a issue nor is distance within reason

Brakes handles an absolute pleasure to ride and live with
Time for ear plugs

Does that back up my theory that only blokes have selective hearing?…….The Mrs always has a listen if i think i can hear summat; cam chain ; tappets and other engine noises i think i can hear; she can pin point things accurately something i struggle to do.
I’ve tried using earplugs but just can’t get on with them. I’ve tried numerous makes and softnesses too. They all hurt after about an hour. Nope. Don’t use anything nowadays and it’s not affected my hearing at all.MikeyBoy near Melton Mowbray is your friend

Very good post and same as me...WInd noise affects everyone's hearing and it's always negatively. I ride every day, been using bikes as work transport for many years and now I have tinnitus same as many who thought their hearing was 'not affected'. I still pass all my hearing tests that are required for work but the tinnitus is always there.
Must have been 20 years ago or more I took a hearing test and the tester said "you ride a motorbike, and so do your two workmates" (there were three of us there for hearing tests). I said "yes, how do you know?" and he replied "I can always tell, your hearing is all reduced on the same frequency ranges". It was a wake-up for me and I have always worn plugs since in fact I can't bear to ride without them. Can't fix the tinnitus that damage was already done I just don't want it getting any worse.
