Love to see how it vibrates at high speed and low speed for that matter due to bugger all balancing but heh ho if we didn't push things and try we wouldn't get anywhere.

Flywheel mass helps to damp the inertia of the spinning masses and hence why a boxer or a Guzzi twists below you when you rev it at a standstill
But with everything there is a critical mass where the damping saps engine power
It was done by Jim Cray, who has a good reputation with airhead boxers. Does seem a bit much though.
1,,, It IS balanced, look at the machining twixt some holes.
Butler and Smith were the first to do this to a flywheel as far as I know

3,,, Jim Cray has been doing this to flywheels for years and years, mainly for Classic bike Boxer racing...
How do I know?
Well in 1979/80 we had an EX Butler and Smith racing R90/6 in for a clutch change, owner had bought it over with him from USA [USAAF flyer]
I took it out after and it would have blown my R90s into the dust on the quick bits [or track].
In town tho' it was a nightmare, stalling if you pulled away with less than 2.5K revs...
Remember it was Butler and Smiths efforts in racing that bought about the R90s as a production bike..
