Ditto, must be my time :rob
Sold my GS recently, thought about another GS...then thought about a 13GT ...again:eek:, then an RT, then a 2010/11 RT with the new engine:drool help:confused:
Have a CB1300 and a Triumph TBS, both similar naked bikes, the CB would have to go if I followed through with the RT (TBS is a keeper)
That would leave two totally opposite bikes :D
I toured for a bit in France last year with a guy on an new RT (and another on a GT) bastid looked really comfy and warm and relaxed in the worst downpours France had seen in years:Motomartin
Did have an 1100RT for a brief period a few years back but the new one is a different machine all together:thumb

My old RT 1150.

Bought for £3200 and sold for not much more.

Still kinda regret selling her, fantastic bike.

I don't have any pics... but I did ride a 2010 RT for a couple hundred miles... and I couldn't wait to give it back!!

Like you, I kept seeing them around and thought it would be great for doing the miles and still pretty good on the a/b roads... with the added benefit of big panniers on both sides, heated grips, easiliy adjustable fairing! But not for me - I just couldn't get on with the handlebars being set back from the top yoke. Fine when just cruising around but when trying to get a move on, I really struggled - including nearly hitting the verge!!

So take one for a ride - it's a kill or cure approach :thumb

Had two 1200 RTs great bikes when the time is right again, I will have number 3, :D

I had one for a couple of months and took it on one trip to the Ardennes. Great at doing what it was designed for but pretty dull.
You never look back as you walk away from it or sit outside a little french cafe and admire it parked up over the road.

I loved my old 1100RT, infact that was my first intro to BMW. I heard reports that the gearbox was horrible, but I loved it. In fact I loved it so much I couldn't sell it and gave it to my brother who still rides it.

This is a picture of Brits abroad. He's riding along Omaha beach on (D day anniversary) on a German bike flying an England flag. Quality!

I took last years RT out, bloody amazing on the motorway with that electric screen, but didn't feel at home hooning around the lanes, bit wallowee. If doing big miles commuting every day it would be a serious contender for me.

Take one out, it's the only way you'll find out if it's for you :thumb

Then again don't listen to me, I really liked the VFR1200 :D

Great for big miles. This is in the Picos. However - I have gone back to a GS - just seems to fit me better.

Ride mag has a good write up on the RT in a big tourer comparison test in the feb issue, they really rate it Chad.........

I might have a 2009 black SE LE with 18k miles on it for sale if anyone is interested?

Just weighing up options at the moment.

Bike will be 2 yrs old in May, if you can wait I could purchase the extra warranty then.

It was ACF 50'd in October but has been stored most of the winter as I bought another bike for commuting

PM me if you want to discuss further.

PS I'm not desperate to sell (love the bike!) so not letting it go cheap, I just want a fair price. ( might? Consider a P/X with 800GS and cash my way)
