booger,

Try the re-set to factory default thingy.

(think it involves touching the bottom right of the screen as you power up) but google it to find the correct method.

Saw this elsewhere, and thought it would be something others here would be interested in - how to get to a system info/diagnostics screen set for Nuvis - works for my 350, should work for others Nuvi models, possibly others too...

When you're at the main screen, hold your finger on the time in the upper right corner for more than 5 seconds, and you'll get to an info screen, and back/next buttons lower right of screen.

There's some sound diagnostics, and screen tests, and lots of info pages - including one with some battery status/statistics. To get out of the diagnostic mode, power cycle your unit...and when you do this, it will take some time to lock on to satellites.

From the above resource...

When new or not used very often: Allow the Zumo to charge overnight, even if the battery seems full. There is another (small) internal battery that needs to be charged as well.

If your Zumo is "dead" most of the time it can be revived by simply taking the battery out for a couple of minutes, and then re-insert the battery. For precaution always take a fitting small 3/64 allen wrench with you on trips.

If the unit still locks up, you can try a reset: Hold your finger on the bottom right corner and turn the unit on. All user data will be erased!

I'm on a rig, offshore, Middle East.
I really, really, really have nothing better to do . . . . . :augie

Ach well, you are on the last option now.

plug it in, leave it charging overnight (to charge the wee internal battery)

try again tomorrow
(do the battery oot / battery in thing again tomorrow if it disnae work)

then, return to Garmin for an exchange unit . . . . .

All's well that ends well . . . . . .
