Turned the key yesterday & low beam bulb popped. I had to go not too far from the main dealer, so I thought I would have a look around and grab a replacement & a spare. "That'll be £30.64p please guvnor"

It just leaves a very bad taste & wary in the future. Has it come to the point where you now have to ask for a quote on a single filament bulb?

i canot believe you paid thirty quid for two h7 bulbs, some would say you have to much money.
they should be no more than four or five quid each at the most:thumb

9 Euros in N Spain this year for a Phillips replacement headlight bulb, 50% brighter too!

one from a main dealer is three times better than one from a motor factors though.

Possibly.

Er, not.

Halfords heavy duty H7s are £15 a pair and last much longer than other bulbs I have used.

:rob

You could've bought three of them for less than that at a motor factors. :augie

I usually do, but needed a bulb, was in the shop & got stung ... hence the thread. :thumby:

Got the usual bollox that they are made in Germany & rarely blow ... as we both gawped at the spent bulb.

Just warning others really!

Took my bike in for a service and on collecting it no dip beam, dealer service manager said no problem I will fit one and just charge cost of the bulb when he fitted it and told me the cost around £16 I told him thanks but as I run an auto electrical business I could buy 10 bulbs for the price of one of there's so had him take it out.

No, I bought 1 for £15.32 and told them what I thought.:rob

If I didn't know that I would have thought all was well & wouldn't be complaining! :thumby:

Think yourself fortunate to have got away so lightly, you were wise not to have said the bulbs were for GS 1200. ;)

At that price I'd of told 'em to suck my stubbly ball sack.

Jesus, this just reminds a lot of us why we don't use our main dealers. Ffs!!
