If you cannot trace the wire bck to a connector, just cut off re-solder the new bulb wire to it and heat shrink it down oe insulation tape or both
Thanks. Look, I've a load of (to you all) silly questions about these lights and the setup.
I've been tracing the wires. They all end up in the black thing in picture 1 above. I expect this is a relay? Picture two show two spade connectors made into one spade connector. Quite corroded so I need to figure out how to fix that. Broken when I was seperating the connectors from the relay to check the are making contact...bit of corrosion there.
What type of lights are they? I assume they are LED? The little I know of HID they have a bigish box of gubbins to make them work. Is this any type of LED light in particular? What should I look to replace them with? Yes, I said them, I'll get onto that in a second.
Both lamps seem to be getting about .3 V. This normal?
I've sort of figured out the bulb and how it attaches but how the hell to I get it to attach to the cable? Solder? Exactly which bit do I solder.
Also, whilst testing for voltage on the previously good side, I obviously touched the wrong thing and that bulb went out. I assume it blew.
As it stands I've taken out the fuse and the lights are inoperable without any chance of a short circut.
So, what bulbs do I need? Any tips on sorting out that stupid double spade connector setup?
Thanks!!!!
