Hey guys, just a quick line here for those who are looking for an affordable solution for a rear shock problem.
Mine ('08 GS, no ESP) blew at 35,000 kms and as you know an aftermarket replacement one can be pricey (500 Euros and up)
I found http://firefoxracing.co.uk/ on here, got a hold of them and sent them the blown shock. They rebuilt it and shipped it back to France for 170 Euros all in. A great alternative if you don't want to fork out all that cash for a new one.

P.s. Removal and installation is super easy (less than half an hour) so don't be afraid to tackle it yourself.

Cheers

I spoke to Firefox when considering doing up my rt and I found them very helpful. Did not use them bought a new 800 GSA instead so I give a glowing report for the time they spent on the phone explaining the procedure to me. JJH

Nowt to do with having a suspension unit rebuilt, but I can highly recommend Firefox as a company. Last year, their workshop manager, whose name escapes me, helped me out with replacing an inner tube after i was stranded with a puncture. He was passing and stopped, and very kindly volunteered to open up the workshop and fit a new tube. All in his own time and on a Sunday afternoon. Definately above and beyond, etc, etc. :thumb2

If any shock feels like its performance is going off colour, get it overhauled sooner rather than later. Leaving it too long can cause internal damage and pushes up costs. I waited too long with a Dutch (the good ones) WP and effectively ruined it. After rebuild it was never the same, the old oil had turned to jelly and duffed up the internals.
