Afternoon all....
Took advantage of a rare day off yesterday and washed the bike by hand for the first time in ages. It usually gets a hose down and spray off lately or proper wash and spray when serviced (every couple or 3months).
Made an excuse for an errand this morning and actually riding in the light for once - got back to find oil (very thin) on the rear of front mudguard. It appears to be dripping onto horizontal crash bar in first piccie.....but not now standing (unless any oil has long since drained). You can see theres a good coating on the mud guard though (that's not polish...). Doesnt seem to have sprayed anywhere else, tyre clear - you can see bash plate is clear.
As part of pampering yesterday I did fill engine oil up but careful not to go over 3/4 sight window (paranoid I'll stick too much in it..). I'm assuming there's no 'release' for main engine oil and it simply hasnt 'leaked' and that this is the shock knackered and leaking ? The only similar thing I've had was a GSA from 4yrs ago whose LHS fork blew - similar mess etc. They both look fine though.
Hasnt been ridden for a week - which is the longest in its 2.5yr and 27k life.
2010 GSA (not that I think that makes a difference with shocks
)
Advice on cost for replacing or fixing a shock - dealer or 3rd party please ?
