Right,

Please prepare yourselves, as I am about to post something that actually has some content.

As I have mentioned previously, discussions have been ongoing between Blue Bell and BMW Motorrad for some time, and we are now in a position to offer some clarification on our situation -

I will post an exerpt from the official statement which is as follows -

"...whilst Blue Bell are to concentrate (long term) on their core car business, there is a desire to continue to serve their (motorcycle) customers whilst a replacement dealership to match the high customer expectations is sought. To this end Blue Bell have offered ongoing aftersales, and sales if required, support until further notice."

Basically, we will carry on as normal (subject to demand) until a new dealership is ready to open it's doors and take over from us in this area.

I think everyone will agree that this is great news as we can now continue to look after our customers without this cloud hanging over us. Personally I am well chuffed, because now I won't have to go over to the dark side (ie.cars). :guitarist (<- Bill & Ted stylee)

We will be writing to all of the customers on our database to formally let people know in due course but please bear with me on this as Chris Bowyer (one of my Sales staff) had a smash on his bike last night so I'm going to be without his services for a while, and therefore a little bit stretched.

Please feel free to fire any questions at me that you may think of, and I will do my best to answer them...

Did I mention I was chuffed? :bounce1

Smashing news:thumb2

Some common sense. Folks want to buy bikes, kit and parts - not sleep in the place.

I've had excellent service by Bluebell in the past - the best I could possibly have had to be more accurate.

A posh showroom is nice but its not top of the list. How many cars would they have squeezed in that space anyway:D

Good news Paul.

Very good news Paul. And best of luck.
I will be in soon to discuss some new purchases for 2008, being a G450X and F800GS.
Myself and my 12GSA have had great service from you guys the times I have been to Bluebell.
I hope Chris Bowyer has not taken a heavy blow due to the incident.
Regards.
Timpo.

I hope Chris Bowyer has not taken a heavy blow due to the incident.

He's not too bad to be fair, he's broken both wrists and his left ankle and has concussion (nothing life threatening) but his bike (SV650) is scrap. Some clown in a four-wheeler pulled in front of him (turning right) outside the dealership and he hit the car head on and did a proper Superman impression down the road.

Thanks for asking

Thanks Finn. :thumb2

Dealership in Wales sounds good.

Perhaps I could walk to work!?

Assuming they'd employ me of course. :mmmm

Blue Bell

Had a letter from Blue Bell this morning confirming that they are closing the motorcycle showroom at the end of March. They will continue after sales service till the end of August at the latest or till another BMW bike dealer is appointed. They are discounting clothing and helmets at 35-50% to clear stocks - might be some bargains?

Just to clarify one matter from the letter (which I didn't write btw) that seems to be causing some confusion.

The plan is to continue in Service (inc. Warranty repairs) and Parts until a new BMW bike dealer is appointed to replace Blue Bell, therefore ensuring existing BMW riders are not left without BMW Dealer support in this area. Initially, this is until the end of August 2008, but if no new dealer is appointed by this time then Blue Bell plan to continue indefinitely on a rolling contract basis with BMW until they are in a position to appoint a new dealer.

It is not true, as the above post suggests, that it is until "August at the latest".

If anybody wants to fire any questions at me, please feel free...
