Last weekend Mrs Bravo and I lost our Blue Haze virginity at The Fire Service College Moreton in Marsh Gloucestershire.
We missed the Friday ride out as we got there four hours too late.
Managed to video the chaps returning to base in the afternoon.
We had a wander round and introduced ourselves but in our opinion there is a few cliques in the club,we won't be wasting out breath on them again.
Met up with people I already know and surprise surprise engaged in conversation with people we'd never met before.
So it was off for dinner (a bit school mealsy if im honest but edible).
Later after dinner and more alcohol was consumed there was a quiz,we palled up with another newbie couple and the club merch vendors and would you believe it we won!!!!!
The prize was 6 bottles of wine(Michelle grabbed three of them).
Friday night in our room was hot and steamy, even with the window open it was enough to cook us,oh for air-conditioning in rooms.
Saturday morning we awoke to heavy rain, after breakfast I attended at 0900 sharp a riders briefing on how to behave during the rideout, usual MO,drop off riding staggered (i was still staggering from the night before) what to do in event of a breakdown etc.
The committee made a decision to postpone the ride until 1230 because of the weather, a few of us were happy to go but the majority didn't fancy heading out.
1245 and we're on the road, nearly every one completely forgot everything from the briefing earlier.
Tbh I was uncomfortable riding in a group of 60 + riders, all that bunching up at junctions and traffic lights left me feeling a bit uneasy.
Some of the riding was atrocious, we were two up and a guy riding solo overtook us only to panic brake for the corner that we were approaching, now my acceleration took longer than his but so did my stopping and I nearly went into the verge trying to avoid hitting him up the arse.
"I'm gonna have a word with that cùnt when I get back" but Michelle reminded me that it's our first time there and I cant upset anyone (I did catch him later).
The group stopped for a half hour break at The old prison,it took 25 minutes to get a can of coke and 2 packets of crisps(1 cheese and onion and 1 roast chicken if you're interested).
Michelle could see i was a little wound up so she made an executive decision to let the group fuck off and we would have another few minutes to enjoy our refreshments then head straight back to the FSC for the group photos.
As we walked back to the bike this Jag F Pace tore into the car park and a guy jumped out screaming at the driver,we stopped to look..... Two extremely camp homosexuals having a domestic, there shouts, screams, hands to head, arms waving in the air, tears you name it,it was up to then the best 10 minutes of the day.
So we gets back have the pictures taken then to the bar,we then found out our new friends bike was missing. Its a long story and im getting bored writing this down(probably not as bored as you dear reader) but all I'll say is he handled it better than I would've, according to Michelle i would've been arrested and kicked out of the club.
Going by the day's events this was going to be my first and last ever Blue Haze,"Never afuckingain am I coming here". I thought to myself.
Well after a few drinks,a bit of dinner then a fantastic live band(they say music soothes the soul) my outlook on the day changed,my only complaint of the evening is they couldn't play A Whole lotta Rosie but they've promised to rectify it for next year.
So there you have it a warts an all description of our first one, even though it wasn't all roses we had a great time and not being a newbie next time i won't have to bite my tongue
.
A few piccies
