Had my 1150 GS about 2 1/2 Years and mileage is around 38,000 now, (28,000 when I got it). I have recently noticed on 2 occasions after stopping when the bike is hot after about 50ish miles that on startup, a great cloud of blue smoke comes out the exhaust. I know this is oil being burnt in the combustion chamber but why now and why not every time? and yes It was on the side stand when it did it.

Make sure the air box has not got oil in it, if youv'e over filled the engine it can appear in the air box and into the combustion chamber.

Had a little looksie, it appears to be fairly wet inside with some small pools of oil on the left hand side, dificult to see though through the plastic grating, is this normal or should it be bone dry:confused:
