Hi to all
Having an issue with my 2000 F650gs. (no software updates ever done)
Can anyone verify on this year of motorcycle if there if a current draw on the 20 amp fuse circiut after a switching the ignition off the draw I have is 0.04 of an amp.
Our 2002 F650CS (software status unknown as the bike was bought second hand) returns to zero after switching the ignition off .
Both machines are single spark systems.
Readings taken at the fuse box with the 20 amp fuse removed.
Both machines have a draw of around 4.5 to 5 amps with the ignition on.
This is causing my battery on the GS to go flat a lot quicker than the CS and may be causing my battery charger to show that the batttery has an issue.
Please note it has had 2 new batteries in the 3 years the bikes charging system is fine and is a very low mileage and very good condition. I know it does not get used a lot but this is starting to anoy me.
Using the GS-911 I have never been able to reset the adaption values. I can not say for certain and I am not saying it did cause this issue but it never used to flaten the battery , but since several failed attempts to reset adaption values
were around the same time the issues started to appear.
Anybody willing to see check their 650 single spark for a figure.
Thanks
The other strange thing is using my GS-911
The Vin ID on the GS is shown as vvvvvv and the manufacturing date as 1400-01-04
The CS Vin ID is correct and the manufacturing date is 2002-03-05 which is also correct.
Note I have owned the GS from 200 miles old/3 months old.
