bmw 1150 gsa 2002 help with ABS question

hi guys,

i had a bmw 1150 gsa 2002 back then for 7 yrs sold it 15 yrs ago and i,m after another can i ask you guys that know if a 2002 gsa has no ABS rings on the front wheel is it a factory non abs bike
on the dash did even the non abs bikes still have the abs light function but it never light up

My 2002 has ABS front and back. I’ve been told by where I took my bike for a new clutch that I shouldn’t have the ABS failure issue with that years bike.

yer my 2002 had abs as well as the abs light came on and it had abs rings on the wheels, but the 2002 i,m looking at the guy thinks its a non abs bike as the abs light has never light up but it has no abs rings on the front wheel

I’m really not sure what you are asking…..

But what I can tell you is the ABS system on the R1150GS was always a factory option. If the bike had no ABS, then the main wiring loom installed on the bike at the factory would not have any of the ABS wiring. So no wiring to the instrument cluster for the ABS warning lights etc.

Additionall there will be no front ABS ring, or more importantly the final drive casing will have no hole for the rear ABS sensor.

thats what i needed to know then that this 2002 1150gsa that i,m looking at is a NON ABS bike from the factory as the abs light in the housing is there but has never light up and no abs ring SO I JUST NEEDED TO KNOW THAT THIS IS A NON ABS BIKE WHITCH IS WHAT I,M AFTER CHEERS
