The alarm on my 2017 R1200 GSA TB has gone off inside my locked garage two nights in a row and both times has scared the shit out of me.

Last night at 12.30am when I was asleep on the sofa watching TV with the bike 5 metres away and just now at 10.30pm when I was upstairs but my wife was downstairs sat where I was the other night. She filled her points and soiled the sofa. "I THINK THERE'S SOMEONE IN THE HOUSE!!!!"

The bike was bought new in November but the alarm was fitted by the BMW dealer a few weeks later.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?

My grandaughter did this many times before she was out of her nappies.
A change of knickers, with warm soapy water and zoflora on the cushions?
My BMW alarm was factory fitted and is very sensitive, although it's not been triggered when standing in my garage.
It can be turned off by scrolling thru the dash, which is not really ideal.
Have you been charging the battery while laid up over winter or is it used regularly anyway.
Then again, is it a BMW system or aftermarket?
Sure someone may have a better idea if you id the alarm.
Try air freshener too, save embarrassment for the wife.

BMW official alarm fitted by BMW a few weeks after I bought the bike.

Currently plugged into an optimate via canbus.

Sounds like a sensor issue..... best bet is to take it back to BMW. Fairl certain they will sort it out with a flick of a few pc buttons :beerjug:.

I'm only guessing, but is the Optimate charger canbus friendly?
I believe some are, some not?
Is it permanently hooked up?
Or does your charging routine coincide with the activations?

Optimate is canbus friendly, bike is ridden around twice per month. On charge 24/7 whenever bike is not in use. It isn't windy tonight so can't blame it on that.

May have no bearing on the alarm, but I was told by a Ducati dealer to have my optimate plugged in on a seven day timer otherwise the battery become dependent on the charger.

Take it back to Lind, complain allot with exaggeration and you'll get NAV VI free of charge!

Check out page 58 in the owners manual. Gives detail of tell tale flashes to indicate what activation was caused by.
