Has anyone fitted the BMW Adventure luggage on a standard GS ? Do the standard passenger footpegs get in the way and have to be changed for Adventure ones ?
Any pictures with luggage on the bike ?

Hi Bumble,

I have done it the other way around, GS-LC varios to a GSA-LC bike, so it is easily do-able, I feel that you may have to remove the the GS brackets and fit the GSA ones if you want to take a passenger. Try the GSA Racks first and see, if not then get some used ones off ebay.

PM me if you need talking through it.

Thanks for the response. The racks bolt straight on . The real question is, will the Adventure panniers fit ok with the standard GS passenger foot pegs in place ( they have a black plastic guide at the back of them to guide the Vario panniers)

Think that you will just have to try one at at dealers to be sure.

one side fits ok the other needs the GSA footpeg, can't remember which side though

Great you have posted this question as I am thinking of doing the same thing and wondered about the rear pegs having the protrusion for the vario pannier?
Photos wwould be useful as you say

here's a pic from my recent holiday to spain, looking at my pic its the exhaust side peg that needs changing

I'd like to know the total difference in weight between a full set of alloy panniers and top box inc racks, compared to the equivalent in the standard ABS varios.

I'm presuming that the alloy gear has quite a weight saving?
