BMW insurance

I have comprehensive BMW insurance (through Devitt) on my 1200gs and informed them today that I have added various parts to the bike so that they would be covered in the event of theft/accident etc. They said there would be no increase in premium but the items wouldn't be covered. As the items come to a couple of thousand pounds (Corbin seat, BOS exhaust, Touratech HID lights etc) I'm a little concerned about this. Can anyone give any advice about this ie is there another insurer that would cover the items or if BMW should be covering them even if at an extra premium?

I've got all my extras specified with Norwich Union (added up to about £2500) and they will replace new for old.
Main reason I didn't go for BMW Insurance was that they would only accessories in the BMW Motorrad Accessories brochure, not aftermarket.
