BMW Motorrad Connected App, should it connect automatically?

Similar issues here- first time I've had issues for a while.

Have iPhone with automations set up to start the App. On the last ride on Sunday, the icons came up and speed limit box was displayed and updated with limits as I went. The journey was not recorded, so no mention of that day's ride in the journey list.

I’ve contacted BMW connected Ride support to see if they know what the problem is, I shall update in due course.

Yup, still no journey recorded, though the icons and speed limit display work fine. Also noticed that the range shown on the app is frozen and nothing like that shown on the bike.

Yep mine’s incorrect, as is the mileage. Says last updated 2 weeks ago even though I was in the bike 2 days ago and the phone was connected. If I go into the user part (icon in top left corner) it says last synced just now.

What’s odd is it’s showing that my service is overdue, but a few days ago it was correctly showing that the service is not due until July 2025

Mine’s iOS. I’m still waiting for BMW connected to get back to me, they’re not exactly quick.

iOS here too. I'm on 17.6.1 but first saw the issues on 17.6, but that migh be a coincidence- the connected app has had monthly revisions for the best part of a year.

I noticed an updated iOS app released today though haven’t had chance to try it with the bike yet. It’s taking forever to download maps so might be a while yet!

Today I took a 5 min break whilst out riding and I checked the App and it was showing as ride recording, however since I’ve got home and looked there’s nothing in the recorded rides so it appears to be recording but not saving

I've deleted the app, deleted my phone from the bike, reinstalled the app and repaired my phone with the bike and it's automatically recorded the ride today. I've not set it up any differently so I can only assume there was a glitch that's been rectified by reinstalling and repairing I didn't realise it showed the lean angle, that's a bit embarrassing

After the new app and loading fresh maps mine also recorded the short trip I made yesterday. The 'merge' function doesn't seem to work though.

Nope, still not right. having filled the bike up before getting home yesterday with the app correctly reading fuel level and range at 100%/220miles, inexplicably it now says 100%/150miles without the bike having turned a wheel or the phone connecting to the bike. I actually saw it change in the app as soon as I opened it!

BMW, your connectivity, data management and software just sucks! Just what are you doing with all our personal information!

My app has said my bike has had 7% fuel for at least last 6 months. The range is always accurate and updates, but not the fuel level.

My wife’s app is hit and miss with her R1250RS with regards to fuel level.

Neither of us have any issue with recording rides. We don’t use the app for navigation as we both use Scenic with a Chigee.

Hi I had my Connect cradle installed by the dealer when I bought the bike and haven't had any success with it to date. Firstly I can't get it to play music stored on my iPhone, however, more worryingly, within 200 miles, it destroyed the camera on my phone. This is a phone that I have used constantly on my mountain bike via a Quadlok with no issues in three years prior to this. I have purchased a new iPhone 14 but there is no way I'm putting in the Connect cradle. Instead, I'm hoping i can keep my new phone in my pocket and use the old phone in the cradle, using my new phone as the donor to the old phone. Is there a way of doing this presumably via Bluetooth rather than Hotspot which uses data? Does this allow full access to the app on my new phone and music etc? Many thanks if anyone can advise me on this.
