That isn't what Mike was saying, he made no reference to depreciation. He was merely pointing out that the run out models represent better value for money in the showrooms and in most cases are the peak of the model develpoment. He's right, the same thing has applied to the car insdustry for decades. If you want a fully sorted product buy a runout model.

. Will keep this one for at least 5 years probably longer

bikes are not about VFM.
if that's your priority, then IMO you are doing it wrong![]()
Maybe, but when you find something that suits and it's giving good service whilst still retaining a modicum of value, then it all adds to the mix
I rode the Rallye this week and it left me cold, didn't stir the soul whatsoever
It was functional, powerful and did what it said on the tin, but equally a TMax scooter would have done................plus I couldn't see any value in the £13k pricetag................it was not worth the sum of the parts
So any guesses as to what the price might be on launch?
I am assuming with the same/similar ABS/ESA packs it will be over £15k!![]()
Interesting comments - what does the 1150 do for you that the 1200 doesn't ? I've owned and done big miles on both and prefer the 12 in every way.

My 09 GSA is a keeper.
With the back of the bike been a mirror image of the old model 1200 all the panniers will have the exhaust cut out on the wrong side so I doubt the old panniers will fit unless the brackets riveted to the panniers can be reversed.
But for how long, seeing as nothing is forever...?
I doubt very much that BMW could be so stupid as to put the 'zorst on the other side, and then have to re-tool for new panniers and expect their loyal customers to splash out for more. It would be plain dumb.
