Hi. It's been a few years since I've had an airhead, but I've just got my hands on a rough R65LS in need of attention. One issue that I'm puzzling over is the state of the windshield/fairing. I think the fairing is made of fibreglass while the black top cover is plastic. At some time in the past the top and bottom have been glued together in a messy fashion, probably with araldite. I'm guessing that the original tabs/fixings had been broken off. The parts for inside the fairing, left and right, are not there.
Maybe if I can separate the parts I can attempt to tidy up and repair both parts and fashion some brackets/fixings. Has anyone got any advice for repairing these parts, or any bits lying around in the garage that might be for sale?

Hi. In the diagram, parts 1 & 2 are the parts glued together. I'm missing part/parts 13, which I believe are handed left and right. I haven't tried to remove it yet. It seems pretty secure, though it looks a mess. I'll have a proper look over the next few days. I'm wary of damaging what I have by trying to separate parts 1 & 2.
Regards
Simon

Ok. Thanks for checking. It looks like I'm going to be busy with a Dremel and Plastex.
