BMW Small Tank Bag to 08 GSA

Hi All
Has anybody any knowledge of fitting the Small BMW tank bag to a 08 GSA?
I dont need a large tank bag but dealer just says "small bag wont fit"
Now I am sure someone has fitted one with a few mods.

Any help or advice please?

The '08 models GS (not GSA) onwards have a different shaped tank so the bags from the '04 - '07 models won't fit.

However BMW have specific bags for the later models. I have the small version in front of me the label says it's a "Tankrucksack 1200GS klein 71607713013"

I had the large rucksack on the previous bikes and it was too big for the few things I ever carried in it. This one is small but fine for what I want, holds mobile, maps, money etc. Lots of room for a radio etc. Transparent map case on top with recess for phone or GPS.

Incidentially, there are no mods required to fit, just a screw on fitting at the bottom of the tank hidden by the seat with the zip part velcroed to the tank and a hook at the front.

You could always try the Famsa or Heine Gerick ones. I have the HG Enduro on my 800GS and it's a great wee bag - perfect size and shape for the dumb shaped plastic it has to attach to.

Don't think so, I was talking standard GS only

I'm open to correction I think the GSA bags are different - different shaped tank. They may be the same as the pre '08 models.

Try a search on the forum, there was a thread about it a long time ago.

Looks like there are different large bags for GS and GSA and a small bag for GS.

From what I remember I think that the old - pre '05 small bag will fit the current GSA.

Mine fits

Hi, I have a 2010 GSA which replaced my 2008 model, as far as I am concerned these two bikes have th esame tanks.

I am currently using a small bmw tankbag which fits just fine, the fitting under the seat had to be bent to suit the shape but the dealer did that and I am more than happy with it.

I have an 07 GS medium tank bag currently on my 09 GSA using the original 07 shackle. The only thing missing atm is the dual lock on the tank panel, BMW no longer sell the part. The number for it is used for standard velcro strips (that they call felt) which you are supposed to sew on to the shackle over the dual lock strip
