What is the cost for updates and would it cover UK and all of the EU?

Is it any good or do you think the Garmin Zumo XT2 is worth the big outlay?

The 2019 model tourer is coming next week.

I’ve recently bought an XT2, it’s a typical Garmin Sat nav, has 100 features I’ll never use, but it works.

I think the map screen is rubbish personally, if you are playing music it uses its screen area badly and it’s hard to read (that may be me needing to learn it better but if that’s the case they’ve made it very hard to change as I can’t seem to find it in the settings). I’m sure it’s brilliant, but I’ve been using the BMW ride connect on my phone for the last few years and that was much nicer to use, I’m sure there are phone apps that do what the XT2 does for a lot less money.

I don’t think I’d rush out to buy another dedicated Sat nav again, so much so, I’m still dithering as to whether to buy a second XT2 mount to fit to the 1150ADV, or just run OS&maps.

Update pricing in the US is about $175…bet it’s nearer £250 here… if you follow the link for the free download it says you can browse the pricing…

You can update it yourself - not a dealer job

I’d sooner keep the std unit up to date, as it’s nicely integrated then bolt another device to my bars.

But that’s just me.

I still have my old updated Zumo 660 for now. Bike coming next week so will see what NAV version it has on the 2019 limited.

Like most riders, it is more for roads to ride more than houses or streets to find.

I updated the Boom GTS on my MY 2020 Ultra… plenty of YT vids on it. It’s free. Download the update from HD onto a memory stick, plug it in to the GTS and upload.

Not meaning to sound patronising, but I learned how to use the Boom, and it was brilliant for music and Nav. Miss it on my Heritage, but there you go…
